Privacy

baited, also shown as BAIT, is a personal hackathon project run by the developer behind Twitch account komediruzecki7. This notice covers the landing page and the initial local game and Extension test. For privacy requests, email hello@irchiinnuss.com.

Visiting the landing page

The examples are scripted. Visiting this page does not connect your Twitch account or access your microphone. The page adds no cookies, advertising or analytics scripts. Cloudflare hosts it and processes technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect it. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Connecting and playing

The broadcaster authorizes Twitch chat-read access. The game receives channel identity, chat messages, participant IDs and display names. It uses these for hints, skip votes, participation scores and broadcaster-selected awards. The Extension also receives Twitch-signed channel, role and opaque viewer identifiers to authorize its panel requests and limit abuse. It does not require viewers to share their Twitch identity with the panel.

The local server stores channel identity, settings, up to 100 round results and up to 1,000 participant IDs, names and score totals per room. Older results become aggregate totals. Leading scores and selected award names are visible to other participants and may appear on stream. Stored room data has no automatic time-based expiry in this test.

For each round, up to 40 eligible and 20 flagged chat hints remain in server memory. The broadcaster sees them after the word is revealed. They clear when the next round ends or ten minutes after their own round ends, whichever comes first. Raw hints are not written to disk. Typed private guesses are checked without saving or broadcasting the guess text.

Optional microphone recognition

The current test uses Moonshine in the broadcaster’s browser. Audio stays on that computer; final recognized text, word timing and audio progress reach the local game server to check a catch. The game does not save audio or transcript text. Model files download from download.moonshine.ai and are cached in the browser. Disabling the microphone stops capture; pausing stops recognition.

Deepgram is an optional alternative in the code and is not enabled for this test. If enabled later, the consent screen will identify it before audio is sent through the game server to Deepgram. Its privacy policy would apply to that processing. Twitch broadcasts and OBS recordings are separate from baited’s microphone processing.

Storage, purposes and choices

The studio uses an essential session cookie lasting up to 12 hours and a Twitch sign-in cookie lasting up to ten minutes. Stored Twitch access and refresh tokens are encrypted. The game uses request information in memory for abuse limits. It adds no advertising or analytics cookies and does not sell personal data.

We use account data to provide the requested test, optional microphone processing with permission, and participation and connection data for our legitimate interests in running and protecting the game. We use messages sent to our contact address to respond to requests. Twitch and Cloudflare have their own privacy practices and may process data in other countries; see their notices.

In the studio, choose Stream setup → Delete my data to remove the room, stored scores and Twitch authorization. Disconnecting or revoking access stops the connection but does not itself erase room records in this test. You can revoke authorization in Twitch’s connection settings.

Email us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, or to object to participation-data processing. Include your Twitch username and the channel involved, never passwords or keys. You can withdraw microphone permission at any time and, where applicable, complain to your local data protection authority. Requests are handled by the project developer. Twitch’s privacy notice covers Twitch itself.
